Do you want to improve your habits?

Do you want to incorporate more “good routines” into your daily life, but find it difficult to find the time or inspiration?

If this sounds familiar, then my new book Habit Stacking: 127 Small Changes to Improve Your Health, Wealth, and Happiness may be just the thing for you. Habit stacking gives you a structured method to building multiple habits, while still leaving you time to work on the important goals in your life.

Have I seen the Habit Stacking book before?

Habit Stacking was originally published in April of 2014. It went on to be my best selling book, selling over 75,000 copies. The idea was well received and the book was popular.

The problem… I wasn't satisfied.

I feel like I made some rookie mistakes in the first edition of this book. Mainly that my explanation of the concept of habit stacking was lacking, being tacked onto the end of the book as an afterthought rather than a fully-fleshed out strategy.

The book did very well, but I knew it could be so much better…

So what we have now is the completely revised, re-written from the ground up and hopefully a greatly  improved version.

This version of Habit Stacking:

  • Is three times as long, with a clear explanation of how habit stacking can benefit you.
  • Details 127 small actions with specific resources to get started.
  • Shows how to build habits that stick.
  • Provides examples of specific stacks you can build.
  • Includes a free companion website full of bonus material that will assist with your habit stacking efforts.

If you'd like to see more about this book, please check it out on Amazon.

What is Habit Stacking?

Imagine what life would be like if you started every morning with small actions that created a chain reaction of positive benefits throughout your life. You eat a healthy breakfast, have a great conversation with your loved ones, and then begin your workday focusing on the important tasks. Then, throughout the day, you complete other habits that positively impact your top goals. You’d probably feel more fulfilled, get more accomplished, and have a better direction for your career.

All of this is possible when you add DOZENS of small changes to your daily routine. These habits don’t require much effort. In fact, most of these habits ONLY take five minutes or less to complete. And all this can be done when you follow a strategy known as “Habit Stacking.”

One Routine + Multiple Habits = Habit Stacking

We all know it's not easy to add multiple new habits to your day. But what you might not realize is it's fairly easy to build a single new routine. The essence of habit stacking is to take a series of small changes and create a ritual that you follow on a daily basis.

Habit stacking works because you eliminate the stress of trying to change too many things at once. Your goal is to simply focus on a single routine that only takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete. Within this routine is a series of actions (or small changes). All you have to do is to create a checklist and follow it every single day.

Perhaps you want to find out more about the book before you decide to buy?

I know I like to read a bit from the author before I make my decisions. To see if I enjoy their writing, “style”.

Fortunately, I have turned a chapter excerpt from the book into a long blog post.  13 steps to building a habit stacking routine is a chapter that comes directly from the book Habit Stacking. The only additions are the intro, pull quote images and the large infographic showing the 13 steps to creating a habit stacking routine.

Even if you don't buy the book, this post should give you a fair idea on how to create your own habit stacking routine and make improvements in your life.

I need your help

Being a self published author, I don't have a huge marketing team behind me helping to get the word out for my books. Because of this I need YOUR help!

Most importantly, if you find this book to be helpful, I would really appreciate a review on Amazon (Here is the link to the book on Amazon)

Additionally, you can help get the word out by sharing the book on your favorite social network using the prescripted links below.

Or even share this blog post using the buttons on the left….

Thanks for all your support. I hope you all enjoy Habit Stacking.

  1. Your books are awesome! I devour audio books and went through one just the other day and bought about 5 more of your books. Just a quick book on stopping procrastination gave me a lot of good examples for utilizing the methods from other reknowned books like The One thing, 7 Habits, and the E-Myth. I actually prefer your books because they are the down and dirty and give a lot of good examples on how to use these methods. Thanks for your writing.

    • Robert.

Of course I love all the books you mentioned, being an avid reader myself. You pretty much nailed what i am trying to do too… digests where I (of course) incorporate info from some great books and hopefully add my own little ideas to the conversation.

Thanks for a great positive comment.Just FYI and as a little bit of a teaser. My next big solo project is ANOTHER procrastination book. This one hopefully the “final word” on the subject. (still months off, though, just barely started outlining.)

  2. Fascinating! I’m obsessed with habit formation so I will definitely check out your updated book. Habit stacking sounds effective as I have found that grouping habits together helps them all get engrained.

    • Thanks Ashley. Seems like you have the core concept down already… that locking habits together (and to existing habits) make them all easier to add to your routine. There is a lot more in the book though.. hope you still check it out! 🙂 ALso… it is now live and on sale
